Update on Baby Hayes ❤️

First, we want to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of love, prayers, donations, messages, and support. Our family is overwhelmed by your kindness, and it has meant so much during this difficult time.

We wanted to share a quick update on Hayes.

Hayes has now been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and he has started medication to help manage this condition.

We are thankful to share some encouraging news as well. Hayes has been extubated, is still on oxygen and his feeding tube has been removed. He is eating on his own, which is a huge milestone and an answered prayer!

While these are wonderful steps forward, there are still concerns that require close monitoring. His oxygen saturation (pulse ox) continues to run a little low, and the cardiology team is keeping a close eye on him. With being put back on oxygen his parents were told he will likely need this when he returns home. Doctors are repeating numerous tests, including EKGs, as they work to better understand what's going on. They are also monitoring episodes where his heart rate has been dropping and then spiking, which may be related to his newly diagnosed condition and his congenital heart disease.

There are still many unknowns, and we're taking things one day at a time. We continue to pray for clear answers, stable test results, wisdom for his medical team, and complete healing for our sweet Hayes.
