August 14, 2026 Update

Today, Austin’s tracheostomy was replaced with a larger one that fits him much better. He worked with a couple of therapists today, which seems to have worn him out! That is completely expected, as they are trying various techniques to stimulate his brain.

He even had the hiccups a few times today, and when his dad went in to see him this morning, Austin was snoring!

We saw some movement today—not quite as much as previous days, but likely because he was tired from all the work the therapists were doing with him.
