Here are todayβs updates on Austin:
Respiratory Progress:
-Trach Mask: He was on the trachea mask for a few hours todayβa great increase from 30 minutes yesterday! He is doing really well, and they will continue to build up his time. His blood gas test on the mask showed the exact same stable results as when he is on the ventilator.
-Chest X-Ray: His latest chest X-ray showed improvement compared to previous scans!
Medical Updates & Care Plan:
Medical Updates & Care Plan:
-CT Scan & Drain: Yesterdayβs CT scan remains stable with no additional fluid accumulating. They are leaving his drain tube in for a few more days until his neurologist returns to check it, at which point they will clamp it to see how his body handles it.
-Medications & Vitals: All vitals remain good. He continues on low-dose stimulants alongside calming medications to help manage his neuro storms when they happen. The team will also keep fine-tuning his intracranial pressure monitor.
Movement & Physical State:

Movement & Physical State:
-He didn't show much new movement today, as he was quite tired from yesterday's activity.
-Swelling looks good and is continuing to decrease bit by bit.
Overall, he is doing much better today than he was last Sunday! Thank you all for staying alongside us and keeping the prayers going!
Special Note:
We also want to take a moment to wish a very Happy Birthday to Austinβs mom, Jeanette, whose birthday was yesterday! πβ€οΈ You are loved very much and everyone so grateful for your strength!Β
