August 12, 2026 Update

The Doctors installed his trach today, which went well.  He had some movements before and after the surgery to place the trach, a sign his brain is starting to heal. They also removed the probes, as they identified that he wasn’t having any indications of strokes, while monitoring. Austin continues to show small important signs of improvement.

Oh, he also 💩a couple times now. This is wonderful!!!!  I know, kinda weird of me sharing this, but it’s important and it’s progress!!!  (He may smack me for this one)

We will be talking with the neurologist tomorrow and hopefully we will get some insights and information about brain progression, in addition to near & long term exceptions. 

We know the recovery is going to be long and tough. We are sending all our love, prayers, and support his way. Please keep your positive thoughts for Austin; he truly needs them to keep going.
