Austin Ryan
This afternoon, they reduced & then stopped Austin’s meds and were hoping that he’d wake up, which didn’t happen. Instead it appeared that he was getting frustrated, as his breathing changed, blood pressure and heart rate went up, so they started the meds back up. We saw a nice sign: he had some hand movements, as well as his feet moving (which is the first time there was movement of the lower portion of his body) and he even made a fist & raised his right arm when tested, which gives us hope. The MRI was good and his brain is moving back to where it should be, as the swelling decreases. They noticed that the left eye is progressing, but not as well as the right one, so they are monitoring for possible frontal lobe damage, which they can do surgery on, if needed. There is no neck/clavicle injury, so that is wonderful. We know he has a long journey ahead, so we are supporting him with our love, prayers, and positive thoughts. Let's keep hoping and cheering for Austin's recovery!
