Hello friends and family! I have several appointments today. We met with radiation oncology this morning to discuss the plan. I will have a MRI several weeks after my 3rd cycle of chemo(week of new yearโs)the recommendation is to wait a few weeks to give the chemo full time to be effective. if the cancer is improving I will likely start radiation plus chemotherapy in Feb. I will have 5 days of radiation treatments a week for up to 7 weeks. The doctor was really thorough and went over everything in detail which was helpful. The list of potential side effects is daunting so will be praying for minimal effects for sure. They will target the areas of tumor but will also do low dose radiation therapy to the lymph nodes in my neck. Dave and I ate lunch and are now on to an appointment with oncology, iv fluids and then a PET scan. As tiring as these days are I do feel good taking steps forward and being active towards a cure. I sadly was not able to work yesterday as I did not feel well. I am really hoping to be able to work tomorrow so praying I will feel well enough. When we were in the waiting room of radiation oncology I heard a group of people cheering and someone ringing a bell-everyone shouted now to the future! It was a beautiful sound and brought tears to my eyes. My goal is to have that moment as soon as possible. Oh how sweet that day will be. Love to you all!
