Ashleigh Rhinehart
Hello All, This is Kirk, Ashleigh’s dad. Wesley asked me to help with communications. This is an overwhelming time for us all, and I would ask that if you text or call Wes and do not receive a reply, understand he is otherwise occupied. Some of you were on a previous list, so excuse me if some of this information is repeated. On Sunday night/Monday morning, Ashleigh suffered a stroke. The effects were profound enough that Wes called 911. She was taken to St. Peter in Lacey. Imaging showed the affected area to be near the language and vision centers. Her left side vision and hearing have been affected for some time, and scans show previous smaller strokes have taken place over time. She has trouble finding words and is often confused, but she is still Ashleigh. Funny and loved by all. Penny initially spent time in the hospital but returned to school today. We had Occupational therapy scheduled today, so Wes and I can become educated on Gate belts and transfers, as her mobility is compromised as well. We hope for a return home in the next 48 hours, but they are monitoring her as they try to get the blood thinner balance right. She is in the neuro ward at the hospital, and the staff has been excellent. She is the youngest patient on the floor by 40 years. If anyone has any particular questions, please send them to me, and I will do my best to answer them. Please say a prayer for our Ashleigh.
