We need prayers for our hearts today. We know God is faithful and we know He is moving. We know what His Word says for what He desires for His children and the promises for healing and deliverance. We know His Word will not return to Him void. We know He cannot lie. But our hearts ache so much today. I yearn to see the light in my sweet boy’s eyes. I yearn to hear his voice and his laugh and feel his hugs. I yearn to laugh at something crazy he’s doing. ABBA has done so much already and we know He’s not done. But this is so hard.
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
So to obey the Word of God we recognize every giant victory up to this point. The doctors spoke death over Asher, but God didn’t allow that. The enemy has tried to destroy this child more than once since we’ve been here, but God put His hands on Asher. We see every cough, every yawn, stretch, reflex, response that has returned as God’s handiwork. Every obstacle he’s overcome, every medicine he’s come off of, every seizure he didn’t have, every day He’s drawn us closer to Him, every moment He’s forced us to depend on Him because aside from that there’s no peace or reprieve, every meal, every donation, every prayer, every handwritten note, every visit, every nurse who has gone above and beyond for our whole family (see pic of glove people our nurse yesterday made for the girls). He is good. He is faithful. He is our ABBA who wants good for His children and we can trust Him.
Now, onto business. There’s a fundraiser some friends organized for us. I’ll post the link. Someone gave the idea for fundraising if there is someone who’s kid is in high school that is in Student Council, Leadership Academy, FFA, or something similar that might need a community project. If that’s your kiddo, we’d be eternally grateful.
Asher has been on the CPAP for 5 days. They’re supposed to let him try HME today which is an artificial nose that goes over the trach to humidify. That would make it possible for me to hold him. Don’t stop praying. We are so close!
