Yesterday afternoon they were able to get ENT at bedside to pry his jaw open and get his teeth out of his tongue. He has a nasty ulcerated wound under there that smells horrific. ENT makeshifted gauze rolls into soft bite blocks to keep him from clamping down on his tongue. He explained that Asher's teeth were serving as a tourniquet. Since we got his teeth out of his tongue, his breathing seems more relaxed and his body is less tense.  

They wanted to trial him off the cooling pad to see if his body would regulate if they let him fever. He's been doing pretty well with this. 

His versed was removed today. He seems pretty relaxed considering he has a tube shoved down his throat-much more since getting his tongue pushed back behind his teeth. 

He had some vomiting last night that seemed to cause some issues with his oxygenation. We had him down to 25% fio2 on the ventilator and he was saturating 100% without issue. After the vomiting, he's been struggling to maintain his sats; they had to go back up to 50% fio2 and restart the IPV (like an internal percussion device) to get gunk out. He's at 40% right now satting in the mid 90s. Better, but not where we were. His tidal volumes on the breaths he is taking are looking better, but he is not initiating as many breaths now. 

The hospital in California that has capabilities to do HBOT on ventilated patients had a fill in doc this week who wasn't super familiar with the review/transfer process so we hope to hear something from them early next week. 

Continue to pray with us for healing. We are waiting for Yah to command him to "Get up and walk." We believe Yah is doing a miraculous work in Asher and the devil will not prevail.
