Asher Blue
They took Asher for an MRI this morning. The EEG wasn't put back on yesterday so we didn't get to see what his brain his doing when he's moving around. It's back on now so hopefully tomorrow we can get some info on what his brain is showing when he's doing certain things like bicycling his legs. We noted he has some tremors in his feet or legs sometimes.
They did a cpap trial on him today which basically entails turning the rate on the ventilator to 0 and let him do the work with some pressure support. At a PEEP of 7 and Psupp of 14, he lasted a whole hour before he fatigued and the machine had to take over. For having been ventilated for 10 days, that amazing...praise YAH! They're going to do trials every 8 hours and let him go to fatigue to help rebuild some of those breathing muscles. Next one is due in a few minutes.
They have initiated their transition protocol to get him off the IV drugs so he's been started on methadone and diazepam. Please pray for no withdrawal symptoms as we move over to these, for the ability to quickly taper off these as well and that we wouldn't have residual side effects from these drugs. He is still on Keppra and Vimpat. Please pray we can get him off these as well.
Some of our local fellowship congregation has arranged a group prayer gathering on McLane campus tomorrow evening. Please check the Facebook post for details. They're meeting at 6:05pm. If you cannot make it in person, we ask you stand with us in prayer at this time, that ABBA, Creator of all things, would hear our cries for restoration and healing of Asher's body and mind. We want this to be a testimony to His power when "science" says things are not possible.
Thank you to all of you who have been praying with us, feeding us, donating, dropping off things for all the kids, researching, and all the things we will never be able to fully repay. Our God is might and able. One of our fellowship friends dropped off a blanket for Asher this afternoon that has Bible verses declared over him. One of those is John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. And in Mashiach's mighty name, we declare it, Amen. Keep praying! Our cries are being heard. Every day is a miracle.
