Angelina aka Angel, Lina
Hello family & friends,
I spoke with my doctor this morning who assures me this is the two worst weeks (I am the beginning of these two weeks) which is good to know as I have been feeling like crap (pardon the crudeness :-) ) The loose plan-of-care at this point is 1) if the Leukemia goes into remission following this one 5-day treatment, then I will move on to preparation for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). 2) If it does not, I will do another 5-day round of intensive chemo possibly here in Franklin at Messino. This is the most likely scenario.. 3) There was a third case scenario, that I don’t remember, which is probably a positive response, because it is the worst-case-scenario. I want to remain focused on the best possible outcomes. Of course, I am hoping for the first possible outcome so I can move onto the BMT.
Dr. Knight remains optimistic we are going to 1) send this into remission & 2) then cure it. That hope is what keeps me going along with the strength I draw from the care and attention of friends and family. So keep those calls, texts, cards, etc coming. If you haven’t tapped into Opportunities to help w meals, kitty care, errands will be listed .

I am feeling overwhelmed trying to keep up with everything. So any support you are interested in providing will be an ease off my mind. My biggest logistical concern is the 90 days I will need to be in Charlotte for the Bone Marrow Transplant. My sweet kitty needs a home. If you are interested, call me to discuss. If you meet her you will fall in love with her, just as I did. She belonged to a hospice patient. When I would visit him & sit in the wheelchair by his bed, she would crawl into my lap. I think she chose me, just as she has adjusted so well to the couple of caregivers taking care of her so far.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for the kindness shown thus far: the cards, calls, texts, donations, prayers have wrapped around me like a warm blanket. I feel so blessed!
Thank you for your part in that!
Much Love,
Angelina

Dearest Sister Angelina,
You have been in my prayers and I have not wanted to bother or interrupt you but today, this eve (last night), I feel compelled to reach out. Grandmother moon is all but full, a super moon they say.
By the light of this moon I am wishing you every healing grace that can attend you. In my heart of hearts I wish you so much love.
Please just know I'm asking angels (and the very best medical care) to be near you every minute!
Much love,
Maya
