An Accessible Van for Elijah
We were supposed to be exploring D.C. this weekend with friends, making memories, and giving the kids a little adventure. Instead, everyone got sick, and we had to turn around early, not just because of the illness, but because our current small van simply can’t hold all the medical equipment we might need on a trip. Elijah can't cough and needs a cough assist vest when he is sick.
The mini-humans are growing fast, and we’re quickly outgrowing the space we have. Most importantly, we need a vehicle that’s wheelchair-accessible and can safely accommodate our whole family and everything required to support Elijah’s medical needs.
So we’re working toward getting a new accessible van, one that will let us travel safely, stay prepared, and give our family the freedom to go on adventures together again.
If you’d like to help us get there, we would be incredibly grateful.
An accessible van is essential not just for adventures (which is our job) but for safely taking Elijah to doctor visits and therapy. Our old van doesn’t have a wheelchair lift, and lifting his 300-pound chair is impossible. This puts strain on us and isn't safe.
The price for a van that meets our needs is about $90,000. This includes the van, a lift, safety belts, and the space for Elijah's wheelchair.
We need your help. Every dollar, prayer, and story share helps us get a new van and keep moving forward. It will make a huge difference in our lives, letting us go on adventures without worry!
