Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been so busy getting ready for the benefit dinner and silent auction - THIS WEEKEND, Saturday 2pm-6pm at the Sauk Rapids VFW! I really hope to see you all there (well, those who are local, I know I have love from all around the world as well and it's not feasible for EVERYONE to come). I've been so overwhelmed by the giving hearts of everyone who contributed to the OVER SEVENTY baskets/items we have for people to bid on. It's been truly incredible to see friends, family, neighbors, etc stand with me as I go through this. I feel the love and prayers that people have sent my way - my heart has remained light and positive and I have you all to thank for that.
I am in the middle of radiation right now - quite literally, actually as tomorrow will be 15 of 30 sessions. So far it's gone pretty well. I'm only a bit tired in the afternoons. My skin has started to react though and that's been irritating...well, itchy, it's been ITCHY. And it's starting to turn a bit pink. I'm hoping the skin reactions will stay mild. I have a follow-up with my plastic surgeon next month, shortly after radiation ends, we'll be discussing cleaning up some things like my "dog ears."
Kevin and Kajia continue to be the best positive influences in my life. Kajia made me a radiation countdown chain with sweet daily reminders of how to take care of myself and reminders of how loved I am. I look forward to opening my chain link each day after treatment.
