The specialized Dynamic Movement Intervention therapy (DMI), can only safely be done on children under 30lbs.
An adaptive form of DMI therapy can be done with additional supports for up to 40lbs.

The idea is early intervention - to lay a strong foundation.
Amelia is currently at the ideal requirements for producing great results:
  • She is currently right at 20lbs.
  • She is under 2 years old, optimizing brain plasticity that last until age 3. (Giving us time to get multiple sessions in before 11/9/2026, or her 3rd birthday)
  • Her tolerance of DMI is agreeable where she doesn’t fight it too much in order to make good progress.

We will lay this foundation while her brain is at optimal neuroplasticity where her neurons can re-wire and override areas that were damaged, so that she can learn to make movements that her body currently doesn’t have the foundation for. These movements will not come naturally, unless we intervene!

She receives DMI therapy weekly in Chattanooga! We have seen incredible growth in her since starting. She went from only laying on her back or barely army crawling to now getting up on hands and knees! (Pictured above practicing with Dad!) She is rocking some, but she’s not taking off and crawling yet.

Her DMI PT here in Chattanooga highly esteem’s the intensive program and Dana who created All Kids Are Perfect (AKAP) in Cary, NC - just outside of Raleigh. This therapy investment will continue to follow us home where our PT will continue to expand upon the foundation that her body attunes to while at AKAP.

We understand this is a marathon and we’re going to see progress over the course of a longer period of time with her developmental skills. 🏃🏻‍♀️

That’s all for now! I’ll be back in a couple of days with another. ☺️
