Hello everyone! First off, I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I never could have imagined the support we have seen and felt as we begin this long, hard journey. I am humbled and in absolute awe of how God loves on us through His people. Thank you for being willing to lay aside your own time and resources to carry us right now. It is so very appreciated - I cannot merely tell you.
I have had 2 chemotherapy treatments so far. If all goes swimmingly I will get 16 total. 12 of them are once a week, every week. And then the last 4 are spread out with 2 or 3 weeks in between to recoup (that last one is a heavy-hitter).
They monitor me like crazy. Blood counts, BP, allergy symptoms, the whole nine yards. And they pump me full of "pre-meds" to try and stay ahead of any potential side-effects. So far so good. Only minor , inconvenience-type things that I won't bore you with but Man, am I grateful to be easing into this.
I will lose my hair soon. It is actually a sign that the chemo is working so is it weird to be glad when it happens?
I am resting a lot but taking lots of walks (thanks to friends who come over and say "Time for your walk!" and we head out the door... no leash though...lol).
I appreciate your prayers. For smooth treatments with no side effects and no allergic reactions. For the cancer to shrivel up and disappear and leave no trace behind! For uplifted spirits in the face of uncertainty. For hope. For healing. I am carried by your prayers. Thank you.
I will aim to update every so often - but not bore you with the mundane. If you fervently desire the mundane...come hang out. Take me for a walk. Take me to chemo and sit the 5 hours with me! (kidding... but seriously?) or follow along on facebook because I will update there sometimes too.
Bless you all!
Much love,
Amanda Paul

I will keep praying. I’m so thankful God is also in the mundane, not just the miraculous. When Elijah ran away after his encounter with the prophets of Baal and the threats of Jezebel and was hiding in a cave, God’s voice came to him, but not in roaring winds or in the powerful earthquake or the fire. God spoke with a gentle whisper in the silence. 1 Kings 19. I pray God will speak in the midst of the mundane and in the silence, assuring you of His love, of His care, of His control over all things.
