Treatment & Surgery Update

Hi everyone, thanks for being here!

I am finally learning how to navigate this site and wanted to give you all an update on my treatment and how things are going. I have been responding well to the chemo and immunotherapy treatments. I was originally supposed to have 4 rounds of chemo before and after surgery. However, the treatments are working very well and are softening up my stomach so I can now eat a lot more food and am absorbing nutrients better. I've actually gained almost 15 pounds; I'm now up to 125! So, my oncologist and surgeon have recommended doing another 6 treatments before surgery to try to get as much weight on me as possible. As long as I can tolerate all 6 additional treatments we will do the surgery on November 11. I will have a six-week break between the last treatment and surgery.

I truly appreciate all of your gifts of support. It is making a huge impact on the medical bills and living expenses since my income has taken quite a hit with having to take time off for treatment and the upcoming 8 - 12 weeks off for recovery after surgery.
