Allison’s Cancer Journey
Quick update to say, we’ve had a really special few weeks, we have all recovered and stayed healthy, Alli had no mouth sores from her last 2 cycles of chemo, we were able to travel and attend a beautiful wedding, and Alli even had a “goodbye party” for her foot surrounded by many people who love her. It was such a blessing and a continued reminder of how much support she has.
We will be on our way to the hospital for surgery in the morning. We expect to stay anywhere from 2-7 days in the hospital but Allison is especially motivated to keep that number small! She will have 2 weeks at least to recover before we start chemo again, which will last about another 3 months. A lot of people have asked why, and we have been told that this is just the protocol for osteosarcoma, and that the combo helps to reduce the chance of recurrence in case the surgery causes any cancer cells to spread. We would be so grateful for your prayers, for an easy, uneventful, and successful surgery, and for Allison to feel peace and courage. That there would be no spread. We are especially praying that she doesn’t see this as an ending, but as the beginning of a new chapter that she has the strength to overcome any challenge facing her.
Thank you for continuing to lift her up and walk alongside us.
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
