Mom slept for about 3 hours last night which was an improvement but still less than ideal.  Her friend Debbie visited this morning and updated her dry erase calendar so she can try to keep track of what day it is, who is coming to visit, who the CNA is, etc. She still is very confused which we hoped would stop once we got her home, but the nurses say it's due to the anesthesia and lack of sleep isn't helping.  Debbie also got mom funny (inappropriate) adult coloring books.  Mom got a kick out of that - see attached pic.

Berna came to visit and when I got there at 3pm to do mom's IV meds, we had to call the home health nurses to come out to redo her wound vac because it can't go unfixed for more than 2 hours.   I had to undo her bandages and then Amy arrived since this made for a crazy afternoon and it's not fun handling these more emergent issues just one of us. Thankfully the home health nurse did the wound care better than the outpatient clinic did on Thursday, so we hope no more issues.  Ilene then visited and Amy and I went to run some errands.

This evening Amy and I did the IV meds because the private nurse we've hired had previous plans and we are just grateful we don't have to do the 8am and 830pm IV meds each night because it is A LOT.  We really try to make lemonade out of these lemons and mom is doing a great job of that as well.   Hopefully she sleeps more tonight (increasing sleep meds again per the doctor) and the more she rests the less confused she will be.

Hoping for a good night's rest for mom and an uneventful day tomorrow!
