We, and the staff, are amazed by mom's progress and how alert she is considering her sodium was still at 159 the last they checked (145 is the high end of normal).  Her nurse was saying that most patients they see with sodium levels that high aren't very alert.  She spent most of the day dosing off and on and speaking with us between doctor visits.  She even participated in PT and was up out of bed 2 times in the chair.  She's definitely sad to be back in the hospital but we are just thrilled how much better she is considering how scary she was acting Sunday morning.  They have new sleep meds ordered that can be taken under her tongue to dissolve and it also helps with anxiety.   This is all so much for her to process and she said she hates being the patient.   She is really wanting to be home for her birthday on Saturday, but we don't think that will happen considering they need to get her electrolytes stable and then first adjust the TPN (IV/Picc Line feeding) to ensure it doesn't throw her back into dehydration so it could be a really slow process.  They do hope to move her from ICU tomorrow so we shall see.
