Today's update
Mom is still in the ICU but her sodium is down to 154, getting us much closer to normal at 145. They are ready to kick her out of ICU, but waiting on a bed in IMCU. They were going to send her to a regular room but we pushed them to put her in IMCU since the nursing ratio is much better. Thankfully that worked.

Mom didn't sleep much last night and was agitated even though she was on sleep meds to help with sleep and anxiety. Tonight they are going to give her a different sleep med that worked in the ER the other night and it's something we can give her at home since that is not a controlled substance and can be given sublingual.

Today at about noon they gave her dilaudid pain meds because she said she was in pain but I think she was more exhausted than in pain. She's been sleeping for a few hours now which is AMAZING and much needed. I can't tell you how thankful we are that she's getting more than an hour or two sleep. I was just telling her nurse that I don't think she's gotten more than 2 hours sleep since around April 24th (when they stopped the dilaudid) so while her sleeping her day away isn't great - right now she just needs rest. And hopefully she'll sleep tonight as well.

We also decided to hire a Geriatric Care Manager from Jewish and Family & Career Services (Sarah) to help/handle discharge and hiring/coordinating all the CNAs and Private nursing once we leave here since we need help! Sarah came to the hospital to meet with us today and it went great and she understands everything we've been through and what we need to make happen moving forward.

Mom is just rousing a bit more and seems soooo much better since she slept. Continued prayers!
