Mom had a restful day yesterday but managed to get out of bed and sit in a chair, which is a positive step forward. Her concerning numbers have returned to normal, and a CT scan done this morning showed no leaks in her GI tract. This means she might be able to start a liquid diet sooner than expected. Additionally, we believe she will be moved out of the ICU today.

She enjoyed hearing comments from friends and family on Facebook and this site, which lifted her spirits. This morning, she also FaceTimed with Hunter and Emma, which brightened her day.

Thank you all for your continued support. Her recovery will take longer than it would have if only the heart valve replacement had been needed, so she’s not thrilled about longer recovery.   

Once she's in recovery and ready for visitors - we will let you know!
