Dear friends and family,
We have some big updates to share as Alexis prepares for the next step in her fight against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Alexis will undergo a lobectomy to remove the middle lobe of her right lung this Friday, January 9, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She'll be in the expert hands of Dr. Mara Antonoff, one of MDA’s highly regarded thoracic surgeons. We're incredibly grateful to have such an experienced and compassionate expert guiding this procedure.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 7, marks the start of pre-surgery procedures, including PET and CT scans, an MRI, bloodwork, and final consultations to make sure everything is ready to go. Chris, along with Alexis’s parents, Rich and Patty, will be traveling with her to Houston to provide their love and support every step of the way.
The surgery will remove the largest of Alexis's tumors. Recovery afterward will take several weeks, with the first few days spent in the hospital in Houston, followed by gradual healing at home.
Alexis is staying strong and positive, and your messages, prayers and encouragement continue to lift her spirits more than you know. We will post another update as soon as we have news after surgery.
Thank you for surrounding Alexis, Chris and the kids with love these past 6 months. Please keep the prayers coming, especially over the next few days.
With love and gratitude,
Miranda and Stephanie

You are in the final stretch! It's so wonderful to get this surgery done at the beginning of the year! A great start to the New Year! Then, it's healing and getting life back to normal! That's my favorite word! When you have gone through this, you really appreciate what an exciting day it is when it's simply going through your "normal" day! You can be with your kids, go to school functions, hear about their day, walk your new puppy...the list goes on!
You are doing so beautifully and we are all so lucky you will be in the hands of incredible medical experts! There are no words to thank them enough for being there for you, and all the many people they help! It means everything! This has been a huge journey and you have nagivated it beautifully. Your patience and positive spirit is contangious. It keeps you going and us too! Within days, it will be behind you! You are so great!!!
I'll never forget, as I was prepping for surgery. the nurses were so positive and as they were wheeling me to surgery, they said, "OK, lets get this done!" I'm passing that to you! "Let's get this done!"
Sending lots of prayers and love!!
XO!
