Phew. I meant to post this a few days after the end of Aila’s most recent intensive, but we’ve had a rough week or so. It seems the new routine of the intensive and the activity and exercise Aila was getting during it was really good for her mood too. Since it ended she’s been getting more irritable and not sleeping as well.
So, we’ve been struggling to keep up (and stay awake during the day). We’ve had multiple almost no sleep nights. We are trying to work on adding in some of the activities they did with Aila while there - some are a bit easier with the equipment they have and I’m realizing how hard it is on your body to help a child with these and how out of shape I am! 😱🫤 Kyle and I need a way to work on our physical health while helping Aila with hers, so we CAN continue to help Aila! It feels like a lot of pressure at times.
Hoping this cooler weather we are getting by us will at least help get out for some walks with Aila. She likes the outdoors but has some trouble regulating her temperature. Really hot and really cold temps can be tough for her body to handle.
Thank you to all those who have so generously donated since my last update. We are so thankful for this community and beyond- all those who are so willing to help. It means so much to us, and will make such an impact for Aila. Donations, being willing to help us in practical hands on ways, and sharing our site is all so important and helps so much.
The website only allows me to post one photo at a time and no videos so I just wanted to post this day one comparison to the last day of the intensive that I planned to post a week ago. Another reason we are thinking some of this fussiness is related to the amount of movement and stimulation she is or isn’t experiencing. By the end of the intensive Aila started to realize standing can be fun!! If you are interested in seeing some videos of the type of work and play they do with Aila at NAPA-Kyle and I are working on a video and plan to post to instagram, etc, when it’s done. Will follow up with that!

Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I've been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
