Okay okay! I know it’s been TOO LONG since I’ve shared an update. Once my schedule gets thrown off, it’s hard for me to get back on…and my birthday week had a lot going on haha! So let’s get into it!
March 31st: MY BIRTHDAY! This mama is 25 years young and boy do I feel 52 haha. But jokes aside, it was a decent birthday seeing I spent it in the hospital. Andrew was able to come and hang out with me. He brought me cakes and cupcakes from my FAVORITE bakery in Tallahassee called Sweetfirmations by Kimmie Kakes (go support her! She makes the BEST vegan cakes.) There’s a nurse here who used to be a chef and he loves to cook plant based meals. He made me FOUR HUGE portions of ginger garlic ramen with fried tofu scramble and green onions. It was amazing!! He even let me keep the tupperware 🥹
The next day my bestie bae Katty came and hung out with me until that following Friday. We had cake, ice cream and a spa night. We had girl chats, singing car rides and laughs until our stomachs hurt. All the things I needed 💜 I’m very very grateful the universe brought me such an amazing person to call one of my bestest friends.
That SAME Friday, Andrew’s dad Billy came with his friend Jackie (fun fact: Adrienne’s middle name is also Billie. She’s named after this amazing guy.) They brought so many things for us. We got yarn and knitting needles (I’ve already learned how to knit so far and I am starting to make a pouch for Adrienne’s heart monitor 🤞🏽) we also got a felting kit (that one has proven to be much harder lol) and we have a tongue drum (look that one up!) The one thing we’ll definitely treasure the most is this cute baby blanket that Jackie’s grandmother made. She made it for Jackie to give to her children but she never had any…so she gifted it to us 🥹💜 We will treasure it forever. After that, we explored the hospital grounds and found a second coffee shop! Adrienne loved the trip outside.
So you can see we’ve been BUSY haha! As far as Adrienne’s health and heart status: nothing has changed too much. We’ve started a new medication (just an anti-acid) to see if it’ll help with the nausea and emesis. She’s been sleeping by herself all week and getting better and better at night. I bought a cute little toy that pats her butt for her! Yesterday was the first time using it and the nurses said she only woke up ONE time during the night 🙌🏽 I’m hoping this will be the game changer we needed! Other than that…we’re still waiting on our miracle heart.
Before I close, I want to send a huge thank you to Tori & Anthony, the owners of Chill Roadside Bar 🥰 if you’re in the Tallahassee area and you’d like to donate to us and support a small local business, please stop by their bar during the week of April 13th - 20th! They will be donating $1 from every drink sold to our fundraiser 😭 (they are a THC bar but you can also get your drink virgin if you don’t want the extra pizazz.) You guys have supported us through everything and have been amazing friends to us. We love you both so much 💜🥰
Well that’s it folks! I will be giving you guys a “bonus update” tomorrow since I’ve been delayed in putting out this one!
