8/29. Outpatient. A Break. A Path Forward.

Adree was officially discharged from the hospital and inpatient rehab on 8/12!
As much as I wish the transition would have been easy, the change and realization of life changes have weighed on us. Adree has had to take a mental health break. Trying for a lot of rest. Adree is not checking her phone much right now, but cards and messages of inspiration would be welcome.
She's not started outpatient PT yet, but Adree has been exercising at home and walking with us. She uses a cane, but more for stability than for weighted support. Sometimes we bring the wheelchair, but only to serve as a mobile bench. Averaging 1,000 steps a day!
We have had some follow-up doc appointments so far. The podiatrist says that her toes have mostly healed, but a procedure will be needed for small areas that haven't recovered.
The hematologist applauded Adree's progress and praised family and friends for the support that lifted Adree up. He noted a genetic mutation in Adree's June bone marrow biopsy and suggested another doc review the findings and consider another biopsy soon to compare.
We're hoping to learn if there's another autoimmune issue that prompted the HLH response, and what, if anything, may need to be planned for in the future.
