Day 7 -

Day 7 had a lot of the same. But a lot of different things. 

Rhianna (not the singer) was Angie’s nurse today. She helped Angie lift her right arm - straight up. The groaning that came from Angie were sounds of relief and not from pain. Her left arm was lifted as well but that one gave quite a bit of pain and discomfort. 

There was an epiphany last night. Angie started her journey of motherhood nursing. Since the accident, that hasn’t been an option so Anaya has been on all formula. Adam and I discussed with Angie her options. We told her that she doesn’t NEED to nurse, that there is no stigma at all for her to have formula. Angie told Adam that she WANTS to nurse, because Anaya enjoys that much better than a bottle of formula.  

After a bit, the nurse came in to help Angie pump… and since Anaya was there, Angie was asked if she wanted to try and nurse her. She of course, said yes. Anaya was her usual ravenous self and she looked at her mama with so much love while they were helping each other. 

Today’s mantra, even when there are clouds, the sunshine is still there. Sometimes you just have to look for it.
