Prep meal #1 was a success yesterday! Angie told me that they loved the pulled pork from the Instant Pot that was for dinner last night. Tonight they are making burgers and will be having fresh mashed potatoes from the Instant Pot from the 15 lbs. of potatoes we left on the counter.

Today, it seems Angie is a full-on photographer! They cleaned up the lens on the back of her phone and Adam said she took 100-200 pics of Anaya today and so many were beautiful. One of those will probably be her 2-month picture - where does the time go??? Of course, Angie's accident was more than 5 weeks ago, which seems crazy as well!

Angie and Adam headed out this morning for a quick trip to the store.... and once she was wheeled into the van she was able to transfer to the regular van seat for the first time which is much safer than how they had to secure her in the wheelchair before. This was Angie's first time to a non-medical appointment since the accident. They only needed dog food and when they got to the back of the store, Adam pushed the wheelchair while carrying the dog food. They ended up grabbing a couple more things that Angie held on her lap. So her first shopping trip out was a success!

With the Mama-Lap time now extending beyond bottle feeding, Angie is getting LOTS of one on one time with Anaya face to face. She is starting to chatter a lot and is making adorable little sounds while she is soaking in her surroundings. She is  a super happy baby - unless she is ready for a bottle - then she is zero to crying in 1.7 seconds!  Over the weekend, she slept one night from 11 pm until 5:30 am so Mom and Dad were able to get some sleep. Even though the she is less than 8 pounds, her weight is still enough to cause Angie some pain in her pelvis.

With Anaya being two months old, there is a new deadline that is passing. Angie's dental insurance through Medicaid only extended 60 days after Anaya's birth. Plagued with dental issues throughout her life, Angie was on track to get her brand new smile.  On August 4th, she had six teeth extracted from her bottom jaw and was scheduled for extractions for her top jaw on August 11th. She was so excited that she was going to be able to eat again with a new bridge on her bottom jaw and dentures on her top jaw. Of course, you all know that between those two appointments, Angie had her accident. Unfortunately, this means that her dental work will have to wait. Her dental insurance coverage will be gone in two days. Her dad was covering all costs beyond her insurance for the work to be done. He has, of course, utilized those funds to cover the more immediate necessities for Angie and Adam like purchasing the wheelchair ramp, clothing, shower bench, etc. Now, with her dental insurance gone, we do not know when Angie will have her new smile, but we still love the grin she gives us now!

Until tomorrow...
