Our favorite patient was back at it today. Her will to get better had her attempt to stand from the wheelchair to get to the toilet. She got a little wobbly and started to lose her balance and would have fallen into the bathtub. Adam jumped over the wheelchair and into the tub to save her before she fell. Luckily, she was not injured. We cannot fault her for wanting to do the most basic of human necessities on her own but I urged her to please be patient and follow doctors orders.

Adam has started placing Anaya on Angie’s lap for feeding now. They are getting lots of snuggles in. Someone does have to be near to burp the baby. Angie and Anaya are both loving this time together.

Adam and PawPaw are coming up with a design to increase the height of the fence. There are several neighborhood dogs who come into their backyard and they are trying to keep them out. There is one neighborhood dog, Sadie, who came with the house. She is the outside dog that they feed and water and she has claimed Adam as her owner. Sadie gets to sleep in the workshop and loves to hang out on the front porch. When PawPaw came down a couple weeks ago he brought his dog, also Sadie, as well.

Adam and Angie have two dogs right now. When they met two years ago, Adam was out looking for Louis, his English Bulldog, because he had been missing for quite a while. When he got back to the house one day, he met Angie. Her best friends aunt lived at the house as well. They bonded over the fact that she had recently lost her dog Turbo, a Chihuahua mix, too. Their friendship started and they combined forces to look for Louis and Turbo. Eventually, both pups made their way back home. Before they found out they were pregnant, a neighbor asked if they wanted a puppy and Angie said sure. Fast forward several weeks and a knock on the door was the welcome home for Taz. Unfortunately, Taz was in the accident with Angie and didn’t survive. They are still terribly heartbroken. Needless to say, they are dog people and always will be.

This next weekend is a meal prep extravaganza at Angie and Adam’s house. With the Instapot that PawPaw brought, we can make a whole bunch of meals that will take less than an hour to cook with virtually no prep needed. My sister is flying down to spend a few days in Birmingham visiting with Emily and Gabe and Adam, Angie and Anaya. The kitchen will be a mess but I’m sure there will be much laughter and love.

Until tomorrow….
