Help Angie & Adam After Major Accident
Today they started a plan for Angie to come home. Her hospital bed, Hoyer lift, wheelchair and whatever other necessary devices will be delivered to the house Friday.
When they moved here, the focus was finding an OB for Angie, not a primary care physician. Without a letter from a primary care physician, Angie’s home care is limited to two physical therapy appointments, one occupational therapy appointment and two in home nurse visits. This is in total. Not each week or every other week. Total. When we asked the case manager, “What about her catheter?” We were stunned to hear the answer of “Someone will show you how to change a Foley”. Not sure how this happens or how it’s supposed to help Angie. But we will power through. Angie will be home with her family. Adam is researching to find a primary care physician now. After that, his goal is to find and install a wheelchair ramp for their minivan to be able to transport Angie. His work has been amazing allowing him this time to take care of Angie.
Angie can bear zero weight on any limb right now, even though she is moving her right arm like a rock star (not quite like a drummer - but she will get there).
Anaya got to meet one of her great grandparents today. Pawpaw (came down from Ohio and has offered his help and support for Angie and Adam. He already has a to do list ❤️. He will be staying until they’re up and running again.
Jayla, their nurse from the Trauma ICU, came to visit them on her lunch today. We asked if she wanted to come change a Foley. We will keep working this angle!
Louis and Turbo are both very sad and missing Angie and Taz. They will be very excited to have their mama home soon! They both had vet appointments this week and would appreciate things getting back to “normal”.
