Help Angie & Adam After Major Accident
Guess who is out of the Trauma ICU!?!?!?!?!
Talk about making moves! Angie is still on the 9th floor and is still in ICU - but she has a real door, a bathroom for guests and a shower for when she’s ready.
Today she has no machines attached to her. Spirits are good. Physical therapy came in to help her get to her chair. Then they asked her to move her right arm. She lifted it up like a champ and was able to bend at the elbow. Therapist went and got these contraptions that look like little pool noodles - they go on the handles of forks and spoons to make it easier to hold. He stabbed a French fry with the fork and let it sit there. She picked up the fork and put it in her mouth. Then, with all the attitude she could muster, she reached over and picked up a fry with her fingers and popped it in her mouth. She was able to take a bite from the cookie she put in her mouth as well!
Her left arm will get there. But she keeps trying to move it and it doesn’t want to go — that arm has 42 staples from her shoulder almost all the way to her elbow , as well as lots of stitches in her forearm.
Anaya (of course) naps best when she is touching mama. Almost three hours of snuggles today!
Staff is hopeful for her heading home mid next week. Fingers crossed.
And Angie and Adam are so grateful for all the love, prays and donations. Adam still has not went back to work yet as he is taking care of Angie. They do not know how to thank everyone….. nor do I. Thank you all. For everything.
