New Need - Only vehicle is broken and needing repair
17 year old Joseph and his mom Matilda
These are receipts of what Matilda could pay to repair her truck to the extent she could afford, as well as the Lyft she and Joseph required to get to his graduation and back. As well as the payment for a tow truck to pick her truck up where it had been stalled. They are $688.00 short on completing the repairs for their only vehicle, and they have to be in Stanford in less than four days before their next appointment!! They must make a trip of around 176 miles to Stanford and back home. Please help them get their truck fixed fully; Joseph’s mom has put all she had into it and is now drowning in fear that they may not be able to make it to Stanford. They also recently got a shutdown bill from PG&E, which has added to the stress plaguing them since the beginning of June when Joseph’s mom’s truck broke down. Their truck had some fixes for what she could afford at that moment, but it was still not mobile due to the need for additional fixes, which were costly. This is not good at all with the fact that Joseph often has oncology appointments at Stanford Hospital! Their truck only needs a couple more coils, and the air conditioner will have to go to the shop. Joseph does not tolerate heat, and it has been causing major discomfort! The weather here is horrific, and being without AC leaves Joseph at a major disadvantage, as he is extremely sensitive to heat due to the radiation treatment he received, which has left permanent effects on his skin.
What led to all this?
On Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, my car broke down in Ceres, California, near Turlock, while I was going to get some things for the graduation. I was fortunate enough to pull into a service station called St Jude's Auto Shop. Unfortunately, the man was unable to work on my vehicle. However, he did tell me my water pump had gone out. I called roadside assistance and waited almost 3 hours in the hot heat. Once the tow truck arrived, he informed me the tow was going to cost $320 because I was only covered for 5 mi with the classic membership. At that point, I had no choice but to abandon my vehicle and take an Uber home, which cost $70. I then had to get a ride to graduation and back. The following morning, I paid $100 for someone to come from Madera to give me a ride to Ceres, call AAA back again, and have my vehicle towed to Merced. The graduation was a success I made it to it thank God. Now I bought a water pump and a serpentine belt, then I learned that the pulley was bad which is the tension that keeps the belts tight. While doing a test run to see if my vehicle squeaks shut off, at that point, that's why I learned that the alternator had gone bad. Then, after the alternator got replaced, I had to replace my spark plugs because they were misfiring. Then my air conditioner was only coming on five, so the blower resistor motor control switch needed to be replaced. And now, once we have replaced that, the car is still stalling for some odd reason. I don't have another vehicle, and I don't have a backup. I spent all my bill money on car repairs and still don't have my truck. I myself was supposed to be in Stanford the week before Joseph'sgraduation to have a hernia removed, but I was so sick I wasn't able to make the journey, and thank God I didn't because I would have been stranded. I had to cancel Joseph's graduation party. The only thing I could do was go to the graduation and come home, and we had to take separate rides.
