While on his way to his high school graduation, Joseph’s mom’s truck broke down. He had enough credits to be able to graduate early, which he and his family really wanted considering how sneaky Grade IV Glioblastoma can be. The serpentine belt broke, the water pump went out, she had to replace the pulley, the alternator, spark plugs and now she needs a new battery. She had to pay close to $500 (that is what the second slide refers to) to get what she could get fixed plus for an Uber ride to and back from the graduation, then for the towing company to take her car. They are $688.00 short on completing the repairs for their only vehicle and they have to be in Stanford in less than 4 days before their next appointment!! Please help them get their truck fixed fully, Joseph’s mom has put all she had into it and is now drowning in fear that they may not be able to make it to Stanford. They also recently got a shut down bill from PG&E and this has added onto the stress that’s been plaguing them since then beginning of June when Joseph’s mom’s truck broke down. Their truck has some fixes for what she could afford at that moment but it is still not mobile due to needing additional fixes that are costly. This is not good at all with the fact that Joseph often has oncology appointments in Stanford! Their truck only needs a couple more coils and the air conditioner is going to have to go to the shop. Joseph does not tolerate heat and it has been causing major discomfort! The weather here is horrific and being without AC leaves Joseph at a major disadvantage, as he is extremely sensitive to heat due to radiation treatment he received, which has left permanent effects on his skin. Joseph lives every day with the complications that come with active chemo and radiation.
