Zeke's Journey
We had an appointment this week with GI. It went well, and he is happy that we have some direction on what is causing the hospitalizations. I took him with some suggestions on how to decrease the ketosis and acid load that Zeke’s body is experiencing and he appreciated the work I put into it, as well as the blends that I suggested. He wants to work in tandem with the new mito doctor to ensure that everything is in alignment.
I can’t remember if I mentioned this or not, but our appointment our functional doctor went very well and she has referred us to a mitochondrial specialist in Miami. She gave some recommendations but said we did need to bring in a specialist to look into this.
When I made an appointment, the soonest they had was April of 2026! None of my doctors were very happy about this and assured me that they would reach out to the specialist directly, bc April is too far away. I also planned on calling each week for cancellations.
And God does what God does. When I phoned on Monday to check for cancellations, they had an appointment for THIS THURSDAY. So we will be going to Miami (as I type that, all I can hear is Will Smith singing - ah, the soundtrack of senior year lol) on Thursday. I see God’s fingerprints in the fact that Thursday is my mom’s birthday. So even though I have not gotten to talk to her about this at all, or feel her prayer or support, having us go see this specialist on her birthday feels like she is part of it somehow. It’s just one of those intimate moments that only God knows of how something is going to be a balm to my heart.
Will you pray…
- for safe travels
- for clear direction on the tx plan
- for the doctor to genuinely care about Zeke and his healing. That he won’t just be another patient but she will have a special tenderness toward him and desire to help him.
- for Zane’s heart as we are visiting her another doctor.
- for Jon and I to have wisdom.
