Everyone is well!

Thank you for the prayers, the meals and the encouragement. We are finally all healthy!

Zane had an amazing time at his swim camp and he really enjoyed the opportunity to attend the camp, as well as see his best friend, his yaya (my sister) and his Deedee (his grandma, my mama). I am so grateful we had this time - it was such a special week for him. A week that he will most likely remember for the whole of his life. I am overwhelmed with gratitude that he was able to have a week like this one. 

Zeke and Jon had an amazing week as well. Zeke loves his daddy, so this was extra special to him - to have bro time! We are also very grateful for the medicaid waiver, b/c it enabled us to have some respite scheduled so Jon could get some work done!

I wanted to update you on a few things. 

(1) I called the Office of Fair Hearings on Friday to find out the status of our case. (I was supposed to have a verdict by June 6) They told me that our case was still with the legal team, and that there is no verdict yet. Would you please pray over this case? It would be absolutely AMAZING if they approved our appeal AND also said that Medicaid can never deny this type of service again. Let's pray friends!

(2) Remember the friend who loaned us cash so we could buy the stander? Thanks to the financial support we have received through this website (YOU), and Jon's steller budgeting, we have been able to almost completely pay her back. By next month, this will be fully paid off! Praise God! 

(3) This month, the insurance covered the Splashy Seat (so he can sit near water or in the tub) and his larger gait trainer. He is so excited about both items. Jon said while we were gone, he started to walk again in the gait trainer! And today, we were able to put the splashy next to the pool so he could stick his feet in. I will try to get a picture for a future post. What a blessing this is covered. 

(4) Last week, we got denied for the JOSI stroller again, and the grant we petitioned granted us much less than we needed to purchase the stroller. This, as long as several other upcoming items, was weighing on me and I was becoming discouraged. The VERY same day, I received a call that blew my mind and reminded me again that God DOES see us. He sees me. And He is working, even when I don't see it. I received a call from a sweet couple who have been praying for our family for quite some time. They are fellow believers and felt led by the Lord to support us in a specific way. How they were led to support us was very specific to our situation - something I have not mentioned to anyone. Jon and I are still in awe of how personal and loving the Lord is to us. This is especially timely for me, as anytime I see my mom I truly struggle with the truth that God is loving. (For those of you who don't know, my sweet mother is in the middle of a nasty battle with dementia. Dementia is an incredibly ugly, painful disease.) I actually had just said to my best friend, "After seeing my mom and her suffering, it is hard to believe God is loving." And look at God. In His grace, kindness and mercy, He forgave my lack of faith and understanding and instead gathered me to Him in a very personal way. I am tearing up now just thinking about it. 

Some items we would love for you to continue praying for:
- the Fair Hearing. That the decision will be in our favor for this one and all other treatments. 
- that insurance will cover Zeke's wheelchair and Safe Sleep bed. 
- if you think of it, will you pray for peace for my mom? And just pray as the Lord leads?
