Day 2 & 3

Zeke's Journey

Today was a great day. Tally told me yesterday about a stander that gives Zeke’s knees room and doesn’t try to force them into position. This stander also gives us the opportunity to incrementally increase the length of his legs. The best and most functional way to do this is with weight bearing and standing. But the only stander that does it is a size 2. So I was praying, praying that Zeke would fit… and he did! Praise the Lord! I had to excuse myself today and have a good cry in the bathroom (I should just nickname it my cry room) bc I was so thankful.

And bonus - Zeke LOVED it. He enjoyed it so much. It was such a huge blessing.

You know what I’m going to ask for — prayer! We need to get this stander asap which means we can’t go through insurance bc it takes 6 months to get equipment. As you all know, we need to take aggressive and intentional moves to get Zeke’s hamstrings lengthened. I’m not sure that I mentioned this - but the knee stabilizers that were requested were denied. I truthfully don’t have any time or energy to fight over this bc this lengthening of the hamstrings is urgent. Will you pray that we find a way to get this without delay?

Zeke has been amazing - working on standing, wearing his therasuit to sit independently and intentionally using his arms and hands. He had some good belly laughs with Tally and always has so much to tell her.

Jon is doing pretty well, and so is Zane. Jon is managing his work and travel well - he feels good about the work he is getting done. Please pray they this continues and he doesn’t get behind in anything. Zane has had some new experiences this week due to our crazy schedule but they have been fun and a blessing. But my emotions are very close to the surface and I’m exhausted emotionally and physically. I don’t know why exactly bc I don’t usually feel like this so early in the treatment cycle. So thank you for your prayers - they are being heard and felt.
