Zeke's Journey

Well, we finished! We completed our sixth round at Ability and the progress continues to blow our minds.

This round, Zeke made gains in several areas:
(1) endurance with head and neck control
(2) lengthening of hamstring tendon - we had a 14 degree change. This is mind blowing. Praise God. And since we have the stander in our living room RIGHT NOW, this will continue to improve.
(3) His body awareness had increased significantly and he is learning where he is in space.
(4) He is beginning to integrate his STNR and his other reflexes have been integrating extremely well. Even his spinal gallant has been improving.
(5) His vertical visual tracking is improving.
(6) He has gained tremendous control over his arms and intentionally moving them. And successfully.
(7) He has gained more control and awareness in sitting. He isn’t there yet, but has made definite steps closer to sitting independently.

Our next OT intensive is in August, and we are on a list for a PT intensive.

These intensives are contingent on what happens with this fair hearing coming up. So I’d really appreciate your prayers. For the hearing officer, for Dr. Patel and Chris Kunis to have soft hearts toward this case and APPROVE. Or better yet, pray that we won’t have to do a fair hearing and that they will just approve. If this isn’t approved, we will have to decrease the amount of intensives we have.

I’m excited to share that we did get a bigger discount from the company that makes the stander. So we are very grateful for that. Now we will continue to pursue avenues to repay our kind friend.

We are now home and transitioning back into regular life. Thank you for those who brought meals, bought meals, donated toward Zeke’s stander and prayed for us. We are so grateful.

How exciting! May God be glorified in all that Zeke will one day tell the world about his journey.
