Zeke's Journey
It's been a minute since I have done an update, and I apologize for that but am grateful for your patience.
Jon and I have had a lot to pray about, marinate on and discuss. That trip to Miami was really a rough one, and we are still working with our PCP and the rest of our team to navigate the next steps forward. I
Thanksgiving was quite special this year. It was forefront on my mind that on Thanksgiving last year, we were walking out of the hospital - and one of the most hellish 9 days of our lives - in Orlando. That year, I was just so grateful that Zeke was still alive and had not died during that hospital visit. I can still remember the wonder of walking out of the hospital as a family of 4, when there were many moments I thought that we would be walking out only a family of 3. This year, I was so grateful that we were at home. No IVs, no advocating, no debilitating fear about what was going to happen. Instead, we played monopoly, enjoyed a unique Thanksgiving dinner and just enjoyed each other. Even now, I praise the Lord for such a special, yet simple, Thanksgiving.
Over the holiday, Zane participated in a special swim meet, and he did an amazing job. It is so much fun to watch him utilize his gifting from the Lord.
Zeke has been able to re-engage with Tally every other week and he has been having an amazing time. He loves her and laughs so often with her. It's funny b/c he always starts out a little cautious but then warms up within 3 minutes!
I have my fair hearing with Medicaid December 18, so I would really appreciate a lot of prayer over this time. That we will find favor with them and that they will grant us 2-3 OT intensives a year.
Will you also continue praying for Zeke's hamstrings to straighten, for all the equipment to get approved (his bed, knee stabilizers, positional accessories for his chair) asap?
His hamstrings have made some improvements but we are not fully there yet. Please keep praying.
