Remember His Goodness

I realized today that it was two years ago—August 15, 2024–that we got Willow’s diagnosis. That day was terrifying, and threw us into a chaotic tailspin that I wasn’t sure how we’d get out of. The Lord provided and sustained us in incredible ways, much of it through our The River Church family. He provided community and support through the Spina Bifida Association of North Texas , and that gave us hope as we journeyed towards the birth of our little girl. 

Looking back now, in this “easy” season of watching Willow develop and grow into a sassy toddler, it’s hard to put myself back in that place of August 2024. It was such a heavy time of unknowns and grief. And yet, here we are on the other side, loving our life with Willow Mei. A life we were told probably wouldn’t happen. 

God provided faith for us when we didn’t have any. Faith that no matter what, He knew and grew Willow. Today in church we sang this lyric, “and when I can’t stand, I’ll fall on you.” For the mom of a paraplegic child, that line hits in more ways than one. 

He is the one who holds us all. He holds us up in our weakness. And He holds us when we can no longer stand. 

THIS ☝️ is why we’re so thankful and passionate about #spinabifidaawareness and the Spina Bifida Association of North Texas. 
There are other families, just receiving this doom and gloom diagnosis, and they need faith and support to help them stand in the heaviest of times.
