Wheels for Olivia
Last night around 2 am Olivia’s j/g tube button came all the way out due to the water balloon popping which is what anchors the button in her stomach. The nurse and I rigged something up to keep the stoma open so she could get the tube back in at the hospital they all laughed but were very happy that we kept the stoma open and they placed a temporary GTube button so she could get her medicines this morning. Now we are admitted waiting to get in for surgery so they can place a new g/j tube button. This is not supposed to happen but it’s not the first time it just requires surgery now because they have to use guided X-ray tech to place the j portion of the tube we used to just swap the GTube out every three months. Just unlucky it’s like when the shunt failed twice this year just bad luck not supposed to happen but it’s always a possibility. She’s getting rest and that’s good because she couldn’t sleep with the stomach acid pouring all out on her tummy last night poor baby was so upset. I’m thankful we had the nurse on feel bad that her first overnight shift went down like that but so thankful she was there. I’m also thankful that we found the catheter to temporarily place to get her to the ER.
