It’s Olivia’s 4th birthday and Chloe’s 4th heavenly birthday! Happy birthday girls mommy loves you both so much! Today Olivia is sleeping in 💜 we had her hip doctor appointment yesterday and the bad news is her hips are dislocated instead of dysplasia which means they said to get the hips back in now it’s a bigger surgery 6-8 hours if everything goes perfect high risk of blood loss etc.. the doctor is very understanding of her current situation with her lungs and while it’s her hip doctors ultimate goal to get the hips back in and safe Olivia from a lifetime of possible unreparable hip pain. She understands Olivia’s current medical condition and we have decided our goal is healthy and alive of course but we still want to do something to try to keep her from having horrible hip pain in her teens. The doctor offered a new option we cut the tendons and put her in a brace she said if we cut the tendons and the hips go back in place they could put the screw but if they cut the tendons and the hips are still dislocated there’s nothing they can do about placing screws. She said the braces have shown to not help but cutting the tendons could buy us time to make it to the bigger more complex surgery hopefully when she’s 6. We decided to go forward with just cutting the tendons. I had her take a look at Olivia in the tummy time position and apparently the reason she can’t lay flat  on tummy time are her hip flexed tendons she said that’s so easy to fix I can cut them during surgery then Olivia can do tummy time again. I new something seemed off when I put her on her belly it’s nice to have a diagnosis and a solution. The tendon cut surgery is a 2- 3 hour surgery probably 2 hours under anesthesia but no blood loss risk I think biggest risk is getting an infection later on. She will have all her specialist make recommendations and sign off. She will also have the pre op visit in her clinic with anesthesia the week of surgery to make absolute sure Olivia is a 100% for surgery. I will keep y’all updated once I get a surgery date.
