Stage TWO Burkitt's Lymphoma

We have been re-admitted and met with the oncology team. His official diagnosis is stage two Burkitt's lymphoma.

The PET scan this morning showed that it is also growing in his appendix and he had swollen lymph nodes throughout his abdomen. It has not spread to his brain or bone marrow, which is huge considering his prognosis. This is a very aggressive cancer, but it is also very treatable with a 90% survival rate at his stage.

The plan is to do five rounds of in-patient chemotherapy, which will take about 6 months to complete. We will start round one tomorrow morning.

Please be praying over Wesley with us for comfort, peace and healing. Pray that his body responds well to the treatment and that it leaves minimal lasting effects. Please be praying for our entire family, the juggling act of living mostly separately and "in between" for 6 months is going to be extremely difficult on all of us. Please just mourn with us all that the cancer is taking from Wesley and his siblings.
