3 whole weeks of James!

3 weeks!

I still can't believe it. This has been by far the fastest 3 weeks of our lives!

Baby James has had a good week! He's been pooping up a storm, which is a good sign that his gut is working. His abdomen X-ray on Thursday also came back fine, so we were able to reintroduce breastmilk feeds through his OG (tube going from his mouth to his stomach). They started him on a whole 6 mls every 3 hours (a whole 48 mls per day 😳😵‍💫). To help supplement his nutrition they've got him on TPN and lipids. 

He tolerated that 6ml feeds well, so they advanced him to 12mls every 3 hours today. The hope is that he'll continue to tolerate the increased feed amounts and that we can continue to decrease TPN/lipids rates. 

Overall, James had a pretty uneventful day (which is exactly what we want today.....and basically for our entire NICU stay). He spent the afternoon/evening cuddled up with Trevor and I. And slept through the majority of his pop's birthday!
