The Barnhill family is back from New Orleans, happy to be in the woods again and getting life back in order. Since we’ve been home, we’ve noticed major differences in Torvin’s abilities since we left Virginia. His grip strength has increased, and he can now swing across the room on a ring. His attempts at moving through a stand are getting stronger and  and we see him getting on his toes more and more. We’re seeing improved foot positioning with less clonus. 

 As for the future, we have two options: continue working with Dr. Harch for $15,000 or try to go out on our own. Buy used; Install ourselves, keep maintenance on and design our own protocols. Either way a home hyperbaric chamber is in our future. We only just started using oxygen on the last 10 dives. I am very hopeful for what continuous oxygen therapy could do for our boy! Medicaid isn’t covering the cost, so we’ll be fundraising either way—whether to stay with Dr. Harch or go independent.
