A single sentence from a fellow cancer warrior moved me to tears today. As my cancer treatment progresses, my love for my life increases.
A long day of appointments tomorrow. Please be praying for us:
• That my last drain can be removed!
• Continued healing and strength. And that I don’t push it trying to use my arms more than I should.
• That I can stay on track for radiation to begin — I should receive a start date tomorrow.
• For a healthy household. There is so much sickness going around at church, both boys’ schools, and of course the hospital clinics where Alex works. It’s imperative that I stay healthy so treatment can stay on track.
• For Alex’s and my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. The last few weeks have been extremely draining (pun intended, since I came home from surgery with three drains), and it’s starting to take a toll on us.
• For our boys. They’ve been acting out and struggling emotionally. The smallest things set them off, and it’s been hard to help them calm down. Please pray for their hearts and minds as they try to understand and navigate so much change and disruption to their routine.
These requests seem small compared to some of the more difficult days I have behind me, but it feels like a lot, right now. I’ll update next week with details from tomorrow’s appointments and what’s next.
Matthew 6:34
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Love,
Elly
