Joshua 1:9 - "This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
John did really well for the 3 days while he was on chemo. (He goes in for a 7 hour infusion then he has a chemo pump for the next 2 days.) The 3 days after chemo (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) were ROUGH with nausea, all things that go with nausea, and severe fatigue. Zofran and other nausea meds helped, did not keep the symptoms at bay. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week were MUCH better. He was able to eat and build back up his strength.
We met for 3 hours with his palliative care team on Tuesday and for 1 hour with his pain management team yesterday. We have a good plan moving forward to manage his pain and to allow him to get back to a semblance of "normal" daily activities. 50 mile ultra marathons are out of the picture for right now, but walking a couple of miles should be doable!
We appreciate all of your love, prayers, and support. We are so very blessed!!
Much love,
Alicia and John
Attached is a photo from Tuesday. After our meeting at Emory Winship in Midtown, John wanted to try one of his favorite restaurants- LaFonda Latina. The weather was pleasant enough to eat outside and he cleaned his plate!!
