Since I last posted a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to share a few glimpses of life lately.

One of the most exciting changes is that Chad has traded his wheelchair and hemi walker for a quad cane!  Seeing him walk into restaurants, therapy appointments, and around the park on his own two feet is something that felt very far away during those first days in the hospital.

Recovery is still hard work.  Things that used to happen automatically now require concentration, patience, and determination. But week by week, we’re seeing his efforts add up!

Today we spent some time walking at the park, and moments like that feel especially meaningful. Before the stroke, Chad loved being active, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. While recovery is far from over, it’s encouraging to see little pieces of those things slowly returning.

Another highlight recently was getting together with Bob, Chad’s former roommate from inpatient rehab.  The two of them shared lunch with our good buddy Matt and caught up on their recovery journeys. There is something uniquely special about friendships formed during difficult seasons, and it was wonderful to see them get together again outside the walls of rehab.

Therapy continues to challenge Chad in new ways. As his walking and mobility have improved, the focus has shifted from simply doing things safely to doing them more efficiently and more normally. His therapists are continuing to work on balance, endurance, and retraining his brain and body to work together. His left arm and hand remain the slowest part of the recovery process, but we’re encouraged by small signs of progress and continue to pray for more.

Thank you for continuing to pray, encourage, check in, visit, bring meals, and support our family. We are grateful for every message, every act of kindness, and every prayer that has been lifted on our behalf.

Please continue praying for healing, perseverance, patience, and wisdom as we continue this journey. We remain hopeful, thankful, and trusting God for what is still to come.

With love and gratitude,

Amanda ❤️

Chad has all the great qualities to give 100%. One of The Best young men I ever met. When you add his strong faith and determination together he will prove wonders. We love him dearly and love reading of his recovery. We deeply care. Wish we lived closer. I would like a chance at spoiling and helping him out.

Thank you for the update Amanda. It's hard to slow down and be patient, but that sounds like good progress. We'll keep praying for you all!

I'm so happy to hear that the recovery is going well. I love seeing Chad back on his feet. Keep up the good work and positive attitude brother and you'll be back to your old self before you know it.
