Wilder has made big steps towards discharge. He has passed his car seat test. We are fully trained on his care at home. He had been doing really well with his feeds until they increased the fortification (calories per feed) and then his body was not a fan. He seemed uncomfortable, was pooping more, and even lost a little weight at his weigh in this morning. We decided to go back to feeds with no fortification and we will see how he responds. After two of those he was already resting more comfortably. The big thing is to see if he continues to gain and not lose weight. So we will see what the morning brings with his next weigh in . This could be the thing that keeps us here for awhile longer, but we are praying he does well tonight.
Please pray for his body to tolerate his feeds well and for him to gain weight. He also needs to pass the rest of his hearing test. He passed in one ear and now needs to get the other ear finished. He’s not a fan of the earmuffs he has to wear for the test so it makes it hard for the machine to test his hearing. We also need all of his medical supplies to get delivered on time. And for patience for mom and dad. We are anxiously awaiting the all clear.
