Barb's Progression

Barbara Vance went onto hospice around April 2026 after a hospital stay. Her husband of over 50 years had undergone his second hip replacement, was set to be released, when Barb fell before his release, and broke her hip. It was unknown at that time that her hip was broken. She went to her primary care in Newport, who sent her to the Newport hospital. This is where she did her stay and then released onto hospice. She made statements of not wanting to die all up to days or hours before the significant decline. She was still getting out of bed, walking, talking, and even went on a trip to Hot Springs(MT) where she said her final goodbye to her late brother who passed May 17th. Again, she was walking and talking just the day before her rapid decline to unresponsive. There was hope of more months to plan, more months of memories, but that vastly changed on June 26th. This caused the family to have to switch gears and plan end of line faster and harder than anticipated. This is just a tid bit of Barb's life, only a handful of months made into a few words.
