No Biopsy This Week

I realize it has been a while since we last posted, but honestly there hasn't been much to update on. We've just been waiting for Asa's next appointment.

Today I took Asa to the hospital for blood work to make sure his levels were good for his bone marrow biopsy tomorrow morning. While his blood and platelets look really good, his neutrophils (good white blood cells, immune system) are too low for the procedure. We are going to try again for next week.

Once again we are just waiting on his body to recover and get to the levels needed to continue with testing/treatment.

Praises:

Asa's had a fairly good week and a half with minimal side effects or pain and for that we are grateful!
He has been taking his medicine really well—we've learned the secret to getting him to take it willingly: marshmallows!

Prayers:

Asa has put together some goodie bags that include a card with an invite to church and a Christmas gospel message. Pray God would use these as seeds to draw them to Him this Christmas!
That Asa's body would recover this week and that next week he would be able to have the bone marrow biopsy. This biopsy is needed to assess how the current treatment plan is going and will determine the next course of treatment (continue on the same plan or attack his cancer with a more aggressive treatment & possible bone marrow transplant).
