The Steinhaus Family
I wanted to share a quick, positive update from Andrew’s oncologist. He called last night as we were leaving the hospital and said he is completely unconcerned about the CT report from the ER. He said it was a sloppy overnight reading with uncalibrated measurement tools for estimating tumor sizes. The point was to ensure the stent placement was correct and not causing Andrew’s pain. We know this intellectually, but he emphasized that cancer does not grow in 10 days and this changes nothing.
We’ll hear from him again by the end of the week about scheduling Andrew’s histotripsy, which will blast the largest liver tumor. There’s a question now about whether he’ll need one more round of chemo next week to stay active and within requirements of the clinical trial. But all is on track.
